What we know about Wraparound
The wraparound initiative is currently being administered in 61 communities across the United States today. Erie County is just one of the communities. Wraparound has demonstrated that the process can produce significantly better outcomes/results for children and families with signidicant needs than traditional approaches, including:
- Increased permanency and stability of children at home and in school with significant improvements;
- Decreased restrictiveness of residential environments;
- Improved behavior and mental health symptoms through knowledge, education, awareness and training;
- Improved school and early care outcomes;
- Decreased family and child safety issues and risk factors;
- Increased family engagement/involvement and satisfaction with services received;
- And increased family resources through utlizing natural supports to support their own children.
