3rd Annual Most Valuable Voices (MVV) Awards

Honoring Those Who Make a Difference with Families

The Most Valuable Voice Awards honor individuals and agencies that treat families with dignity and respect who may be experiencing mental health, behavior and/or social challenges.

We want to recognize those in our community who have reached out and has helped to keep families together, provide support, empower families and youth, and are improving the quality of life of our community.

Nominations are open to all!

February 1 - April 1, 2008

There are three Most Valuable Voices Awards (MVV) open for nomination.

MVV -- Family Advocacy or Family Support Partners

This individual or agency has served as a family advocate or a family support partner for one or more families that may be experiencing mental health, behavioral health and social challenges in their every day lives.

MVV -- Public Awareness

This individual or agency has made an effort publically reach out to educate the community about resources that are available to help improve the quality of life for families through community outreach, radio, advertising, TV, public services announcements, and more.

MVV -- Community Team-work

This voice has done the most to promote team-work across the community in order to either address children's mental health or behavioral health issues or to make an extraordinarily difference for one child or family through community collaborative efforts.

1st ever Youth Recognition

(Age 12-17 or Grade 7-12)

This recognition is for children and youth who may be experiencing mental health, behavioral health or social challenges in their lives. In the last 6-12 months, Youth who are experiencing positive changes in their attitude, behavior, and/or school performance we want to recognize. Those who are taken better care of their mental wellness at home, in school and in their community. Nominations accepted from parents, schools, peers, counselors, faith-based and community, etc. Please include youth grade and school.

We will not capture any information from the nomination form to be read for the youth recognition. We just want to know a general reason why you have identified the youth for recognition. On awareness day we will only record the youth name, grade and school.

 

Please nominate an individuals or agencies that are doing the most to exemplify the Family Voices Network of Erie County philosophy. That philosophy is family driven, youth guided, community-based and culturally competent services delivery.


Nominations are open to anyone and there is no limit to the number of nominations that are submitted. You may submit multiple nominations.

All nominations are due to Family Voices Network of Erie County by April 1st.

The Most Valuable Voice Awards will be presented at a luncheon at the Buffalo Convention Center in Buffalo, New York on Friday, May 9, 2008. This years theme for the luncheon is "Celebrating the Success of our Families Awareness Day." It coincides with National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day that is taking place across the United States in 61 communities.

Reminder:

All nominations must be received by April 1st for consideration. We will select one winner from each category and we will recognize all nominees on Awareness Day. Once the deadline has arrived, we will contact those nominated to have their picture taken for inclusion in our "Awareness Day Program Book." The book is distributed to all attendees at the luncheon. Please be sure that the contact information for the individual or agency nominated is accurate.
