2009 National Recognition Awards

9th Annual Excellence in Community Communications & Outreach Recognition Program. The Caring for Every Child's Mental Health Campaign created the ECCO Recognition Program as an opportunity for communities to share success in social marketing and communications and to learn from the talents, strengths, and accomplishment of their peers.

Family Voices Network of Erie County

Community Representives

13 members from the Erie County Community attended the Summer 2009 Systems of Care Training Meeting held in Anaheim, CA on July 29-31.


Family Voices Network of Erie County has consistently participated in the National Systems of Care Conference since 2004. As part of showcasing communities work in communications and outreach the Caring for Every Child’s Mental Health Campaign developed the “Excellence in Communications & Community Outreach Awards (ECCO).” This is an opportunity for the 59+ communities involved in the System of Care SAMHSA Grant to showcase their work, learn from others and share ideas. This year Family Voices Network received two awards.

 

Honorable Mention Recognition:

2009 Excellence in Communication and Community Outreach (ECCO) Awards: Family Voices Network received Honorable Mention in the Internal Communications category for our work:

“FVN Referral Process: Interagency Training”

 

2009 Excellence in Communication and Community Outreach (ECCO) Awards: Family Voices Network received Honorable Mention in the Professional Partnership category for our work in Cultural & Linguistic Competency for:

“Healing the Spirit: Trauma, Poverty, & Urban Violence – Faith-based Outreach”

Family Voices Network is a countywide referral program in Erie County that works collaboratively with the Department of Social Services providing support for foster care/adoptive services, probation, juvenile justice and mental health for children, youth and families with mental/behavioral health needs. Services and supports are family driven, youth guided, community-based and culturally competent. Since inception, we have served over 1,200 families.
